Living and working in Dubai places you at the intersection of world-class hospitality and a booming specialty coffee scene. From iconic landmarks like Downtown Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and the bustling Dubai Marina to high-end resort lounges across Palm Jumeirah, you will represent leading 5-star hotel brands and premier dining establishments. In this role, you will act as a key coffee craftsman—combining bean knowledge, milk-texturing art, and warm guest hospitality across busy hotel cafes and lounges.
Key Responsibilities:
Craft Coffee & Espresso Execution: Prepare and serve classic espresso beverages, single-origin pour-overs, and specialty cold brews according to exact recipe standards and luxury presentation guidelines.
Latte Art & Milk Texturing: Steam and texture milk to ideal micro-foam consistency, topping milk-based drinks with free-pour latte art and precise presentation.
Barista Operations & Grinder Calibration: Calibrate espresso grinders daily (dialing in grind size, dose, and extraction time) to ensure consistent flavor profiles and cup quality.
Guest Interaction & Menu Knowledge: Engage warmly with hotel guests, explain origin profiles and roast characteristics, make personalized recommendations, and manage POS transactions efficiently.
Equipment Maintenance & Hygiene: Clean, sanitize, and maintain commercial espresso machines, steam wands, grinders, and brew bars in strict accordance with UAE municipal regulations and 5-star hotel hygiene standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Passport & Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a valid South African Passport.
Barista Experience: Proven professional experience as a Barista within 5-star hotels, specialty coffee houses, or high-volume premium cafes.
Technical Coffee Knowledge: Strong understanding of espresso extraction parameters, milk texturing, latte art techniques, and bean varieties.
Communication & Demeanor: Flawless spoken English communication skills with a clear, warm, and engaging personality suitable for luxury hotels.
Relocation Readiness: Willingness and eligibility to relocate full-time to Dubai, UAE.
